Yoram Naor Consul General presented the Certificate of Recognition and Appreciation for “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology For Gender Equality” to Woman of Valor Mrs. Neta Blum. By founding the “AT” Program to push more girls into S.T.E.M programs in Israel, she serves as a significant role model for hundreds of high school young women as the future generation in technological leadership. Blum was assisted by many scientists who volunteered to aid in training the high school students. She’s also head of cybersecurity in the Ministry of Defense.

The other Woman of Valor recipients included:

Adv. Ms Ayelet Razin Bet Or, Director of the Government Authority on the Advancement of the Status of Women, Ministry of Social Equality, for her contribution in promoting gender equality with an emphasis on the prevention of violence against women.

Dr. Maly Danino, CEO of Nitzan Association, for her contribution in eradicating social media bullying through the B-Friendly Program – an A.I. technology to detect and to treat girl and boy adolescents at risk.

A minute of silence was also held in memory of the eight women killed since the beginning of the year.

Yoram Naor, Honorary Consul of Belize, Samer Haj Yehia, Chairman of Bank Leumi and The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Mr. Khaled Yousif Al-Jalahma together at The Annual Diplomat of The Year Award Ceremony where Mr. Naor was awarded as Honorary Consul of The Year.

Yoram Naor was honoured by many heartwarming speeches given by board members of  the Ambassadors’ Club of Israel. Yitzhak Eldan, President of the Ambassadors’ Club of Israel stated, “He was chosen by the Ambassadors’ Club of Israel, Among the close to 200 Honorary Consuls operating in Israel for his excellent performance in promoting Belize and Israel’s Latin American Relations.’CONNECTING DIPLOMATS TO ISRAEL’ is our club’s mission, and Yoram Naor is a Master and Leader of those connections in business, culture, science and others. His vast network of International Relations and his devotion for Israel’s relations with the world, especially Central America and Africa. This makes him a natural honorary consul award recipient not only of the year 2022, but of the past decade!”

Deputy Director General for Latin America, former Israeli Ambassador to Mexico, former M.F.A. spokesman & former spokesman in Washington D.C., Jonathan Peled gave a wonderful message to congratulate Yoram Naor on his award.

“I am a Ukrainian-American Neurologist and founding member of the Ukraine Neurology Initiative, a collaborative effort between the Brothers Brother Foundation and neurologists around the US to support epilepsy needs in Ukraine. Working with our neurology colleagues on the ground in Ukraine, we are able to distribute medications directly to patients in need at home.

There are 103 children in Ukraine dependent on the medication you provided us, Vigabatrin, used to treat Infantile Spasms, a very dangerous form of childhood epilepsy, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex as well as other refractory forms of epilepsy. Unfortunately, due to its controlled nature in the US under the REMS program and severe supply shortage worldwide, it has been unavailable for purchase in the US, Canada and Europe for the last 7 months. Furthermore, epilepsy therapies have not been prioritized by humanitarian organization prior to this war, and we are one of the few groups around the world supplying them.

With your [Yoram Naor] help, along with Sar El and Melanie Kelfer, President of Operation Mordechai, we were able to purchase 30,000 doses of Vigabatrin within days of sending you the request. That is enough to supply those 103 children with more than 3 months of lifesaving medication. The medication successfully arrived to Lviv on September 28, 2022, and was distributed to the children in need over the next few days.

During the darkest time for these children, your [Yoram Naor] compassion and hard work brought back light into their lives. Without appropriate medication , their conditions often result in irreversible brain injury or death. I truly cannot express my appreciation enough.”
