The Ambassadors’ Club of Israel celebrated International Peace Day as well as the second anniversary of the Abraham Accords at the annual Diplomat of The Year Award Ceremony at the TEO Cultural Centre in Herzliya Pituach. This was the 6th edition of the Diplomat of The Year award ceremony. This year was different: Two ambassadors, both of them representing Bahrain and Morocco received The Award of Ambassador of The Year in honour of the second anniversary of the Abraham accords: The Ambassador of The Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Mr. Khaled Yousif Al-Jalahma and the Head of Mission Liaison Office of Morocco to Israel, H.E. Mr. Abderrahim Beyyoudh. In the other categories, Honorary Consul General of Belize Mr. Yoram Naor was chosen ad Honorary Consul of the year. In the category of International Israeli Businessman, Mr. David Fattal, the founder of the Fattal Hotel Chain, won the Award. The award winners received a Certificate of Excellence in Diplomacy and a unique Trophy made of Jerusalem stone created by the Director of the Israeli Diamond Center in Ramat Gan, Mr. Avi Tavisal. The two Ambassadors received also special art plate on the Abraham Accords made by a Moroccan artist. They were presented by Ms. Caroline Schwab, honorary member of the Ambassadors club. The musical programme of the event included peace songs performed by Tigran Gasparian (“Ose Shalom”) and pianist Marina Lebenson, “The Benediction of the Kings” by Lital Peer, “Imagine” by Hila HaLevi and finally, “Shalom Chaverim”, sang by all the audience in English, Arabic and Hebrew. The lovely ceremony ended with a shofar blowing and apples with honey on the occasion of New Year. Shana tova.
