The Ambassadors’ Club of Israel hosted, along with The Federation of Local Authorities and The Mayor of Shibly Um El Ghanem Reginoul Counsil, a unique and enriching tour to the northern Bedouin village.

The 20 Ambassadors from Europe, Asia, Africa, North and Central America who attended the tour today, had the chance to enjoy and experience : – A traditional Bedouin-style coffee and sweets ceremony with the elected leadership of the village. – A visit to the Catholic church on the top of Mount Tabor. – A glimpse of the diversity of cultures and religions (Bedouins, Druze and Jews) that cooperate together in the region.

The Ambassadors’ Club of Israel was proud to host, along with the Federation of Local Authorities and Mr. Dov Litvinoff, Mayor of the Tamar Regional Council a unique and enriching tour of the Dead Sea today with Ambassadors from Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. We began the day with presentations by Mr. Dov Litvinoff, Mayor of the Tamar Regional Council; Lizy Delariche, Mayor of Ganey Tikva and Chairman of the International Affairs in FLAI; Amb. Yitzhak Eldan, Ambassadors’ Club of Israel President. A panel of four women experts on the Middle East was moderated by Ruth Wasserman-Lande. Dr. Michal Yaari- a specialist in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Anat Kurz- a specialist on Israel/Palestine, and Gallia Lindenstrauss- a specialist on Turkey. We enjoyed the resources of the region by floating in the Dead Sea water. We viewed the sinkhole phenomena devastating the northern section of the Israel side of the Dead Sea. We completed the day with a tour of the Dead Sea Research Institute founded with Tel Aviv University.

The Ambassadors’ Club was again on the road on Thursday May 28th as part of its “Ambassadors Visit Israel” program. A double invitation by the KKL (the Jewish National Fund) and the Rosh Pinna municipality brought several Ambassadors and Honorary members of the club to an unforgettable trip to beautiful northern Israel.

The guided tour included a visit by the Ambassadors’ Club delegation to Hagit Forest and Agamon Hahula Natural Reserve, the world-famous bird-watching site. The tour ended at the picturesque village of Rosh Pinna where the Ambassadors’ Club members got the VIP treatment as the guests of both the Mayor of Rosh Pinna and the local wine festival. At the 5th Galilee Rosh Pinna Wine Festival, which took place at the magical HaBaron Garden, the club members got a chance to sample excellent wine, cheese, olive oil and other outstanding culinary products of the Galilee.

The Tourism Ministry hosted a tour on November 14, 2012 for dozens of ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions stationed in Israel to four UNESCO World Heritage sites in the Galilee: the Carmel Caves, Tel Megiddo ,the Bahá’í Gardens and the old city of Acco.

The tour was arranged in cooperation with the Ambassadors’ Club of Israel, headed by Ambassador Yitzhak Eldan, formerly Israel’s Ambassador to UNESCO and Denmark. The ambassadors and diplomats, accompanied by their partners, visited the prehistoric caves at Nahal Maarot, Tel Megiddo, the old city of Acco and the Bahai Gardens in Haifa. Participants in the tour included diplomatic representatives from China, Japan, Egypt, Colombia, Slovakia, Nepal, Croatia, Chile, Belarus, Albania, Austria, Poland, Costa Rica, Kenya, Ghana, Peru and more.

The aim of the tour is to introduce senior members of the diplomatic corps in Israel to the area of the Galilee and, in particular, to the four UNESCO World Heritage sites in the area. The tour is part of a series of marketing and advocacy activities undertaken by the ministry with opinion-formers and journalists from around the world, and the members of the diplomatic corps based in Israel represent an important target group who will submit an authentic and important report to their individual countries.
